The Piazza system is based upon
a differential piston which slides upwards in a cylinder (See
diagram to the right). This piston rises as a result of pressure from steam
and hot water. As the piston rises, superheated steam and hot
water pass through the grounds in the cylinder, compressing and
extracting the essence and aroma from your favorite coffee or
tea. Since we are compressing the coffee and tea at significant
pressure and temperature, you can use less of either to obtain
superior quality. Because of the high thermal efficiency of our
system, you even use less energy in producing these incredibly
flavorful coffees and teas.
